Someone told me to add water to the feed mash instead of providing it dry. Does that make sense? Does anyone serve the mash wet? Please advise. Thanks.

sandiegochicken: Usuallly mash is given wet to stimulate appetite. The only real benefit for feeding mash instead of crumbles or pellets, is that it takes longer to fill up so the birds are busy eating longer and have less time to feather pick and other nasty habits. If you decide to feed wet mash you have to give them enough that they will clean it up the day it is given otherwise you could find it going mouldy. It's your choice however.
